Chile – Putre

This village is situated at a height of 3 500 m / 11 550 feet and has 1 200 inhabitants, approximately. It is the capital of the Province of Parinacota. Highlights to visit include the Parochial Church, built in 1670, and a walk along O’Higgins street with its houses build in the 19th Century. The valley is mainly green and cultivated, given that the majority of the inhabitants live off their produce and farming with the production of fruit, vegetables and milk products being the main source of income for most.
